Warm weather has finally arrived!
The mission at Home Farm so far has been to get as many folks as possible growing their own greens indoors. Now, there's nothing from stopping you from growing indoors in the summer, but, if you have an outdoor space where you can grow, that opens up all new possibilities!
The great thing about growing greens outdoors is that they do not require full Sun. Even if you only have a few hours of Sunshine in your backyard, or even partial Sun, you can grow amazing greens.
The new outdoor greens growing kit provides seed for 3 succession 8' plantings of the following tasty, easy, fast-growing and incredibly nutritious greens:
● Arugula
● Russian red kale
● Mizuna
● Fun-Jen mustard (a mild, lettuce-like mustard green)
The problem with growing arugula and mustard greens (and many other crops as well) is that they almost always get mauled by insects that just love to munch on them. Flea beetles to be precise. To the rescue is a little bit of high-tech growing help, a floating row cover.
